Our time capsules will shortly be housed in our glass cabinets, where they will stay until 2050!
D’Oliveira most successfully captured time with their memory book and finger print tree. Rowling came second with their overwhelmingly positive and inclusive box to represent their house. Bulman came third, staying true to their caring and medical roots, and Parks came in fourth with a beautiful box but gave too much of it to predicting the future, as opposed to capturing life today. Winslow’s electronic capsule didn’t quite cut the mustard for our judges!
What do you think like at DSHS will be like in 2050?!
Waddle Week was a blast! 🐧 🎉 Our fundraising team planned many events (many of which football themed) to raise money for @strichardshospice!
We raised £1282 over the week! Thank you so much to everyone who made cakes, wore black and white, helped run stalls, painted faces, volunteered to play FIFA/waddle race/ goal keep etc.
A big thank you to our sponsors also, @nicolandco_estateagents for supporting our efforts to raise money as part of the @waddleofworcester - we can’t wait to see our penguin (Ice Cube) around Worcester in the summer!...
Well done to all of our athletes 🎽👟 that competed at the District trials last week. The results (positions are from across all of the district) are below. Five first places 🏅 for #teamDSHS and eleven podiums 🥇🥈🥉, which is incredibly impressive. Well done everyone!
We are confident our email issues affecting our ability to send to yahoo.com, sky.com, aol.com, ymail.com, rocketmail.com (and all the co.uk equivalents) from our personal school addresses is resolved. Year 9 Historians had a lovely visit to London yesterday to visit the @imperialwarmuseums to find out more about conflicts from WW1 to the present day, which will support them with their curriculum content.
Thank you to all the staff who ran the visit and to parents too for being flexible with a later collection due to an accident on the M40 on the way back.
Year 11 Historians had a really productive visit to Conwy Castle (@visitconwy) last week in preparation for one of their upcoming GCSE papers.
Their conduct was absolutely exemplary, drawing several unsolicited positive comments from passing members of the public to Mr Drew and the rest of the staff on the visit.
#WaddleWeek is well underway here at the high school! There is face painting, staff waddle racing, penguin cookies, lawn games and more! Meanwhile, our students are working hard to get our penguin painted, ready for display at the @waddleofworcester. Exciting times ahead!
A huge thank you to @nicolandco_estateagents who have sponsored #WaddleWeek and supported us in our fundraising efforts.
Don’t forget your pennies! Remember, you can use our card machines to buy tokens if you don’t have any loose change. You can also donate on Arbor and pay your £1 for our black and white themed non-uniform day on Arbor, too.
