About Our School

We are a happy and successful high school with a thriving Sixth Form, serving the community of Droitwich and its surrounding villages. Our intake is socio-economically diverse, and we are proud of how our staff embrace this, creating an inclusive environment where all students can succeed.

Our House system sits at the heart of school life, helping to foster a strong sense of belonging, identity and recognition, alongside ambition and optimism.

Our staff are talented, collaborative and exceptionally supportive of one another. Under the leadership of our new Co-Headteachers, we are building on our ‘Good’ OFSTED rating by celebrating what we do well while driving forward meaningful improvements. We have strengthened our leadership structure to accelerate progress and are excited about our CPD programme that is ambitious, impactful and highly regarded beyond our school.

We are proud of the difference we make to our students, both academically and pastorally, and we are committed to going even further. We strongly encourage you to read our Information for Prospective Colleagues, which offers a deeper insight into our ethos, culture and day-to-day life.

About our MFL Department

The Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department at Droitwich Spa High School provides a comprehensive curriculum focusing on French and Spanish. It prepares students for GCSE and A-Level study by developing skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, with an emphasis on accuracy, grammar, and vocabulary. Students study one language (French or Spanish) in year 8 and year 9. Foreign Languages is an optional subject in KS4 and uptake numbers are healthy. We work hard to make lessons challenging and relevant for all students.

If you are looking for a role—full-time or part-time—where you can make a genuine impact, be supported by committed colleagues, and continue to develop your practice, we would be delighted to hear from you.
